Indian Designer Jewellery Trends That Are Bling-Bling Beautiful!

In recent times, Indian designer jewelry have come to be all about a hint of heritage, a dose of traditionality and a whole lot of style, all brought together through brilliant craftery. The contemporary Indian woman embodies the hustles of a fast paced life as well as epitomizes beauty in a minimalistic manner, on a day to day basis. But everyone here would agree that it calls for heavier pieces of jewelries when it marks a special day in your life or someone else who holds a dear place in your heart. We know at office 'You Da Boss' with those neo-modernistic work-wears and those chic accessories accentuating your looks, and we also know the same lady will become the perfect 'Punjabi Mundi' or a 'Bangalan Kudi' with a gaudy chunky piece of jewelry that typifies the grandeur of Indian festivities and occasions. You know what, let me just give you a rundown of the latest trends in Indian designer jewelry and you'll know how to step up your jewelry game exactly.

Let's start off with the Neo-Modern Pieces. The neo-modern pieces perfectly exemplifies the needs of the women on the go, the modern woman who is the boss, both at home and at office and who's gotten used to the best of both worlds. Funky pieces of necklaces with intricate handiworks, these light and easy to handle pieces of jewelries are a boon to your day to day life. Categorically speaking, neo-modern jewelry can be your all time accessory partner, just bulk up some layered necklaces, some chained chokers, some light diamond earpieces and some gold as well ( cause, duh! Those are assets and thus an investment) and you are ready to rock neo-modernism.
Well when talking about trends in jewelry, how can I not talk about Jadau and Kundan sets. First of all, yes traditional Indian designer jewelries can be paired up with western outfits, you just got to be confident enough to carry them out with Panache as our Bollywood A-listers have shown times and over. Believed to have originated from the royal courts of Rajasthan and Gujarat, you are sure to feel like nothing less than royalties donning an elaborate Kundan piece. Be it your wedding attire that is full of embellishments or a nude saree that is literary minimal in all senses, these Indian designer jewelries can complement any and every traditional look and can be a perfect partner for all your Indo-western dos. Jadau pieces are itself a look into the country’s glorious historical past and also an exquisite representation of the Indian craftsmanship. Can be perfectly paired up with western outfits as well as traditional ones, these jewelries can serve as all in one pieces in your wardrobe.

Now when talking about Choker Necklaces, don’t just think about those lacy and layered chokers or the leather and mesh chokers that are seen all around these days, for traditional Indian jewelry has also absorbed the essence of this chic style and made their own statement with distinctive choker necklaces. A whole lotta bling and attractive gems and stones put together makes up for exquisite pieces of Indian designer choker necklaces.

Going by the latest trends of 2017, it all about Mixing and Matching. A little of this and a little of that 'Et Voila', you have chic masterpieces on your neck and ears. This latest trend is well known to make even your minimal accessories the showstopper of your ensemble. Put on a beaded choker with a longline necklace, or mix up distinctive pair of earring and make an Avant Garde style statement with your look.

As someone who is a very occasional accessory donner, I swear by Chunky Necklaces whenever I am trying to up my jewelry game. Be it with a Saree, or with a Deep Neckline Dress or even a Jeans and T-shirt ensemble, chunky necklaces are the best thing a woman could have in her wardrobe for those days when you feel like you have nothing to wear, as these pieces are sure to render your clothes distinctive new looks every time you don them.

A personal favorite, Asymmetric Necklaces hold a special place in my heart as well. It’s not just the sheer elegance that the unbalanced frame provides, but also the way in which these necklaces adorn any kind of neck and make it look like a million bucks. Believe me not, try it for yourself. I particularly love these pieces cause these beautifully accentuate my already accentuated collarbones, giving me the desired look I always vie for when wearing neck jewelry.

Multi-Layered Necklaces is a trend that has been absorbed and delivered in different styles when it comes to Indian Designer Jewelry. It's all about elaborate designs and grandness when it comes to Indian jewelry, and seeing how nimbly jewelry designers have meshed traditional crafts with a modern outlook, playing with stones, elements and textures, there's no doubt as to why Indian jewelry designs and craftsmanship is revered around the world. Both traditional and heavy pieces and lighter minimalistic pieces can be found in this same style. It's just the neck hugging look along with the navel long chains or necklaces that makes these pieces stand out amongst others.

Last but not the least, Headpieces are indeed a big thing these days.  Be it in the form of a Tiara for the forevermore little princess or in the form of a Ravishing Maang-Tika, adornments for your head are all the rage these days. For me, Rhinestone Head Chains qualifies as the ultimate head accessory. Just give me a nice, sparkly headchain, and I could be the next PYT in Traditional, Modern, Ethnic, Indo-western and anything, cause they literally go with anything and everything. Be it precious stone embellished or simply Rhinestone embedded, the chicness of these Head jewelries is limitless.

Let me know which are your absolute favorite and how you flaunt these Indian jewelry designs.

An Ode To The Indian Fashion Goddesses At Cannes

As the 70th Annual Cannes Film Festival drew to a close, people of the world film associations and film buffs around the world were left with a fresh dose of 'good-movie' high, but sitting back in India, people were all eyes on Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor. Guilty as charged! Lack of good movies in the running at the festival the media's eyes were indubitably drawn to these divas representing the country. Three of these beauties walking the red carpet for an International cosmetic brand, not only donned some of the top fashion designers from around the world but also exalted panache on the Red Carpet representing the country and gave people like me such a fashion high that most of us are still hungover. Speaking for none though, at least I am. Words were cluttering up inside my head in praise of these Fashion epitomes and my brain neurons readily transmitted these data down to my finger and thus onto this blog. It is in true sense an ode to these Indian Fashion Goddesses.

Having dissected the styles that these fashion epitomes flaunted on and off the red carpet it's relatively visible that Indian representation on the Cannes Red carpet left a strong mark on and around Global Media as well, alongside our own country's, who were jaw dropped, flabbergasted. Without further ado, here's a rundown of some of the best attires that these divas donned.

Deepika Padukone
It ain't true about 2017 being Deepika's maiden appearance at the famed international film festival. She have had graced the Red Carpet already back in 2010 as an ambassador for Chivas Regal donning an elegant Saree by famous Indian Fashion Designer Rohit Bal, but both her appearance and her attire failed to cook up some buzz back then, so it can be said that this year was indeed her maiden appearance at the illustrious festival for she was fierce on the Red Carpet. From Day 1 she had marked her territory with the Sexy Marchesa sheer gown and went on upping her game through the days. Be it the chic red floral gown by  Popular Women's Fashion Designer Johanna Ortiz or the Galvan London number that did a serious number on us as well, oh those long spider legs and that perfectly shaped bod! The look that I absolutely fell for, head over heels was her red carpet finale look in the Brandon Maxwell dark green one shouldered gown. The long trail, the thigh high slit, the dramatic makeup and the signature DP top bun, she slayed it! Also how can I forget the serious Travel attire goals that DP gave me with her Alberta Ferretti Dress paired with a Maje leather jacket and the boho mustard top by Popular fashion designer Chloe with jeans, it was dapper-chic!

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Remember the purple lipstick fiasco last year at Cannes, everyone still have their memory fresh of the pastel shaded lips of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Despite of all the storm that it brewed up in the media and the shock and awe it rendered her fans with, Aishwarya stood firmly by her stylist's decision and looks like she was right about her ever faithful styling crew for this year they transformed her into nothing less of a princess. A Cannes veteran in her own right, this time around marked her 16th year at the festival and the way she stirred it up on the red carpet Michael Cinco's Icy blue gown, her image threw me back to one of my fave Disney characters, Elsa from Frozen. Though her first day looks were not that eye-catching, with the Yanina couture gown, but she kept on slaying through the other days with the intricately embroidered Georges Hobeika Gown and sexy black layered Ashi studio gown. And who could forget the blush-pink gown with handmade embellishments by Indian Fashion designer Monisha Jaising in which she was looking like a millions bucks. Finally she ended it with a bang and brought the same magic on the red carpet on Day 4 donning a regal red Ralph and Russo gown. I'd say this was one of the best years of Indian beauty on the Cannes Red carpet. Cin Cin ARB!

Sonam Kapoor
The reigning fashion icon of our country, the diva, the femme fatale, 2017 marked Sonam's 7th appearance at the festival and as usual self she stood out with risque looks and made us fall in love with her all over again. On her first day out she donned a hand dyed lurex oil spill prismatic saree from Indian Fashion Designers Mriga Kapadiya and Amrit Kumar's label Nor Black Nor White. Yet again on day 2 she sashayed down in an embroidered mustard yellow Bralette and wide legged pants designed by the popular women's fashion designer Anamika Khanna. Sonam known for her fashion experiments took it to another level matching up this ensemble with a red cape and a red headscarf and pulled it off with panache. Be it the white flowy gown with the blue and white Kaftan by Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla or the Pastel hued dhoti pant saree by Masaba, she sure has made remarkable efforts in representing India and Women's Fashion Designers in India in all their glory.

Her red carpet ensembles were heavy on bling and gave all of us a dreamy moment, (Yes, even to the least girly girls of us all) with her Elie Saab Couture gowns. Her first Red carpet night was minimal chic with the dress dominating the look with a rosy embellished gown and yet again representing India matching it up with those amazing earrings from Kalyan Jewellers. Next day she was a vision in golden in the Gold Elie Saab Gown. With those smoky eyes and heavy bling on her ears from Chopard she further upped the fashion quotient and slayed it like always.

So as promised I have gurgled out my Cannes 2017 Fashion fetishes. Now it's your turn to tell me which are the looks you liked best on these Indian beauties.
